Inspired by the painting “Journey” by Sudandyo Aprilianto, Boat to Nowhere is a play exploring the tug of war that international couples experience between their separate places of origin. Written and directed by Emilia Javanica. Performed by Jaclyn Strez and Nicholas Pobutsky. Sound design by Simon Alexander-Adams.

Emilia Javanica is an interdisciplinary performance artist, director and playwright. Her projects often incorporate exaggerated characters, costumes, puppets and audience participation. Emilia holds a BFA in Theater & Original Work from Cornish College of the Arts Seattle and an MFA in Studio Art from University of Michigan Stamps School of Art & Design.
