Join the Porous Borders Pollinator Parade on May 16 at 11AM!
Join the Porous Borders Festival kick-off event: the Pollinator Parade! The parade runs down Carpenter from the Hamtramck Housing Project Children’s Garden at the west of Carpenter (the triangular point between Hamtramck, Highland Park and Detroit) to Conant Street.
There are four EASY ways to get involved:
-come to a parade rehearsal at Popps Packing (12138 St. Aubin) Saturday, May 9 from 1-4pm to learn parade choreography and take on a bigger parade role: maybe you’ll pull a bicycle float! Maybe you can be an earthworm! Then, show up at 10:30AM at the children’s garden and walk with the parade!
-come to the Hamtramck Housing Project Children’s Garden at 10:30AM and pick out a costume piece – awesome bug hats, beautiful butterfly wings, adorable flags, cute squirrel heads and more! Then, walk with the parade!
-write to shoshanna[at]interstatearts.com to help build the parade! There’s still papier-mâché waiting to happen, fun painting projects and more.
-definitely tell your friends, family, frenemies, future in-laws, librarian, teacher, auto mechanic and neighbor to come watch and join in the festivities!
